APPLICATION WINDOW FOR THE NELLIE'S NEIGHBORHOOD LOTTERY:
NOW CLOSED
The Nellie's Neighborhood lottery was held on July 17th 2024. The lottery was administered by the Summit Combined Housing Authority (SCHA), and held digitally by a neutral 3rd party vendor. To enter the lottery, applicants needed to submit a formal application through the SCHA prior to July 1st at 12pm.
The 14 selected entrants plus the entrants in top backup position, are required to be fully qualified by the SCHA including but not limited to: AMI requirements, asset testing, homeowner education, etc. The SCHA will also require proof of employment in Summit County, and a prequalificiation letter from a mortgage lender. Properties will be allocated in order of the lottery draw.
Per the Summit Board of County Commissioners, priority for the Nellie's Neighborhood lottery will be granted to applicants who have entered and been pre-approved by the SCHA for three previous workforce housing lotteries in the last three years. Lottery priority means that those applicants who qualify for the condition received a second entry into the Nellie's Neighborhood lottery.
Pricing, AMI requirements, and restrictive covenants for Nellie's Neighborhood were decided by the Summit Board of County Commissioners. AMIs for initial purchase will be based on the 2024 AMI chart. There is a 30% income flexibility allowance for Nellie's Neighborhood. It is the applicant's responsibility to read the full deed restriction below to ensure their eligibility for purchase.
